Experienced drivers weigh in on why their profession
seems to be facing a shortage of employees
America has a truck driver shortage. With the huge
popularity of online shopping more than 51,000 drivers
are needed to meet the demand, but no one's stepping
up. In this article Heather Long asks several experienced
drivers why they believe trucking is not a desired
profession these days. Their answers provide a look inside
the industry today, how it' s changed over the years, and
what they believe might make it more attractive for future
drivers. Is there anything our industry can learn from this?

Space and Waste Don't Mix
Special events portables and the International Space Station may
have more in common than we thought
There's a $19 million toilet out there in desperate need of a
pumper. And when we say "out there" we mean it. NASA's
Space Station toilet can recycle urine, but when it comes to
number two, it hasn't quite reached technological greatness.
Astronauts must aim for a relatively small hole and launch their
waste into a single use bag. Once finished, they seal the bag
and push it down with their hand onto all the other bags waiting
for the mass disposal, which happens about every 10 days.
That's the best - case scenario, as there's always a chance even
the most well - trained scientist will miss. And a floater takes on a
whole new meaning in zero grav ity.
