W EEKLY EDITION JULY 26, 2017 Get To Know Our Committees and Programs: The PSAI Members Business Success Committee Learn more about the group of dedicated volunteers that devote their time to growing and maintaining our Association's membership The PSAI has gained much of its success over the years due to the work of many dedicated volunteers. While it is easy to assume these behind - the - scenes efforts fall on the Board, there are only so many initiatives the Board of Directors can take on. Luck ily, in add ition to the Board, we have 12 unique committees, commissions, and councils that carry out specific responsibilities that are essential to our association. One of these hardworking groups is the PSAI Members Business Success (MSI) Committee, co - chaired by Nancy Gump - Melancon, Andy Gump, and David Harling, Ameri - Can Engineering. David took the time to discuss some of the committee's work, and after hearing from him, it is clear that the MSI Committee is an invaluable addition to our Association – continue be low to find out why. The Members Business Success Committee has a range of goals, David explained, "which collectively strive to increase Membership and to provide business tools and deliverables to the Members." These tools are meant to help PSAI Members strengthen and grow their business. However, over the past year the committee's sole focus has been "attracting new Members and [retaining] existing Members." David and Nancy work together to "schedule committee meetings and create the agenda," along wit h "[organizing] the committee effort over the past two years in recruiting and retention." David explained how the MSI Committee, which stands for Members Business Success Initiative has continued to work diligently to grow our Membership and increase rete ntion. He continued by explaining "while the increase [of 2.29% in FY2016 - 17] is not yet as huge as we plan, we are very pleased to have reversed the downward trend."
