W EEKLY EDITION MAY 3, 2017 Member Spotlight: Pit Stop Sanitation Services …continued Get to know your fellow PSAI Members, Jeff and Terri Wigley, from Atlanta, GA One unique element of Pit Stop – thanks to an inventive idea of Terr i's – is the company's line of painted portable units. Available for rent and painted by local Atlanta artists, these one - of - a - kind restrooms feature "themes ranging from a weathered outhouse to a clever take on a classic work of Renaissance art." The unit s are a fabulous way to "support the arts while taking care of business" – each restroom's artist receives royalties when his or her unit is leased. Jeff shared with us one of the most memorable events that Pit Stop has serviced over the last 21 years. Wh ile he assured the Olympics were hard to beat, considering it was their first taste of event services, he highlighted his experience working with the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Georgia in 2011. Jeff's brother Scott had MS and passed away in 2010. Becaus e of this, the MS Society of Georgia taglined their 2011 Walk MS event "In Honor of Scott Wigley." Pit Stop Sanitation serviced the event, as Jeff was also involved with the planning committee to organize the walk. He detailed how it was such a unique expe rience to be able to plan the walk dedicated to his brother and then provide the restrooms for it as well. "For me personally, it was really memorable to be able to honor my brother and be involved in all sides of the planning," Jeff explained. As a forme r PSAI President, Jeff has seen how the PSAI works to improve this industry for its Members. Almost as soon as they started Pit Stop, the Wigleys joined the PSAI. Shortly after, Jeff visited Clyde Sansom at Sansom Industries in St. Louis who showed him fi r sthand how to pump units. The A ssociation was quick to help Jeff and Terri get started as soon as they signed on . This was surprising to Jeff, who mentioned how at IBM, they did not want to share any "industry secrets" with potential competitors. If they w anted information and devices, they had to pay outside consulting companies to assist them. IBM even asked its employees to lock their desks and fully shut down their computers at the end of every day. The PSAI encouraged the exact opposite approach. "The PSAI was so open, it was really refreshing," Jeff stated. "The PSAI makes you a better company; you share your information, other Members share theirs," which ultimately is how portable restroom companie s are able to improve and grow. Yet the Wigleys enjo y the PSAI most for the lasting friendships they've formed. After being in the business for over 20 years, they find it wonderful that fellow Members are people they've known that entire time. Jeff explained that the PSAI is filled with great relationships that pick up right where they left off at events, even when they haven't seen each another in 6 - 8 months. "The PSAI is just one big family," Jeff finished. We're glad that Jeff and Terri at Pit Stop Sanitation have remained such involved Members all of t hese years! If you know of another great PSAI Member Company that our membership should know more about – or if you'd like to share how the PSAI has positively impacted your company – reach out to Rachel at rachelj@psai.org . We'd love to hear from you! P A GE 3
