2018 Industry Survey Reveals Progress, Prosperity, and Growing
Concerns …continued
By Karleen Kos, PSAI Executive Director
An important question to answer – and around which to build recruitment strategies for membership and events – is
whether the nonmembers simply lack information about all that is going on in the PSAI, or if they know but don' t value
the activity. Also of note is that nonmembers rate the PSAI's events as the things going furthest in the right direction. Thi s
may be an opening for increasing attendance and furthering the dialogue with these companies.
Here are some representati ve comments provided to open - ended questions further probing the value of the PSAI and
how we can continue to improve it for industry companies.
Is there anything important you think the PSAI should be doing that it is not already doing? What?
Should have some one out on the road to visit companies get to know what's going on. First hand one on one.
Find out [why former Members] are not happy with PSAI and what can be done to [address these concerns]. H elp why
they are no longer M embers.
I can't really say since I have not been into the PSAI in several years.
Not sure if doing or not but reaching out to State offices to standardize yearly/annual re - certification processes. Example:
Completing everything the State wants (bonding, education, etc... ) then having to do it all over again for each county one
works in. Those counties "sorta" pull that info for their portion, but the also require their piece too and that includes
more fees
L ower dues for the little guy
Opening more internationally
Next week: Respondents have a lot of thoughts about the PSAI's events and how to evolve them as the industry
changes. Part II of this series will cover their feedback.
