W EEKLY EDITION JU NE 6, 2018 2018 Industry Survey Reveals Progress, Prosperity, and Growing Concerns …continued By Karleen Kos, PSAI Executive Director What is the most important reason that you are not a Member of the PSAI? We are stil l very small company and can't a fford the cost. Haven't signed up or had much time to look into it. Training sessions were inadequate Unsure of how you can help our business A lot of my old time friends dropped out, seems like if you are big your good if you a r e a small company not so good. As our dues went up and our sales went down, we had to make cuts. Then the big shake - up in the PSAI happened and it just never came back up. Simply not aware of what PSAI can do for us now that we haven't been doing already. Today's tech We just started into the business, just learning about it! We are a Canadian Company and there doesn't seem to be many benefits for Canadian Companies Delivering value. When we look at perceptions about specific areas related to the PSAI's current delivery of value to industry companies, we can see that the PSAI seems to be delivering good value to the industry. If you study the following table you will see that, with ra re exception, the PSAI is providing both Members and nonmembers with a level of satisfaction around the association's features and benefits that meets or exceeds the level of importance respondents place on that item. The only area that is underperforming, and then only slightly, is the Convention and Trade Show , as perceived by current Members. Th e PSAI has already established a special task force to help reinvigorate and update the show over the next few years. Other areas of note: • Not surprisingly, Membe rs rank networking as the most important th ing the PSAI provides to them. This is followed by the Convention and Trade Show, the Code of Excellence and our focus on raising standards, the new Resource Library, and our education/training programs – includin g those at the Nuts and Bolts conference. • Nonmembers, lacking the experience of networking with Members of the PSAI on a regular basis, rank the Resource Library as the most important thing the PSAI provides. This is curious because the resources in the Library are accessible to Members only. It is unclear whether nonmembers are simply valuing the resources we provide for free or if they understand the abundance of resources in the Library. Either way, their value of our resources suggests this may be an angle we can emphasize in membership recruitment. Nonmembers' other top choices were the Convention and Trade Show, networking, in person training, our website, and the organization's alliances with groups like ARA and WWETT.
