The PSAI's Dedication to Higher Education …continued
A long history and a stellar program
We are grateful that our Members see the value in funding this initiative; through
your donations, your employees and their families are able to pursue higher
education opportunities that otherwise may not have been possible. Thank you also to
the members of the Scholarship Commission over the years. They have set policies and
conducted fundraising campaigns. Without these volunteers, the program could not
exist.
The program today
Since 2004, the Scholarship Program's requirements have faced slight adjustments
that we believe have improved the caliber of the award. Each recipient of a 2018 PSAI
Scholarship is either an employee or a child of a full time employee that has been with a Member company for at least two
years. They are enrolled full time at a four - year college, two - year college, vocational schoo l, or technical school. They have a
GPA of 3.0 or above and scored a minimum of 1000 on their SAT or 21 on their ACT. Their collegiate majors demonstrate a
wide range of interests. Most importantly, they have submitted a winning essay that highlights the i mportance and value of
portable sanitation from their perspective.
Over the next five weeks, these well - written essays will be featured in Association Insight one - by - one. This will allow you to
see the difference you are making in the eyes of these stude nts – both through the monetary donations that provide their
scholarship and through the hard work and dedication each of you put into this industry. The PSAI is proud that our
Scholarship Program continues to grow and develop. We look forward to what 2019 's program will bring and appreciate
your continued support.
