W EEKLY EDITION JULY 26, 2017 Company Spotlight: Lemon Trees Toilet Hire ...continued Functioning as Directors of the company, the Bhikhas and the Patels are active in the strategic and executive decisions, while Pieter manages the operational side of the business and Hanli e directs the marketing. This move positioned the firm to become BEE certified, and that – in turn – has opened additional business opportunities.* Looking toward the future, the Jamnecks are committed to evolving their business with the changing needs of their market. "I can't think of a better industry with better people – it's been good to us and we hope we are always delivering something good back to our customers," they say. Both Pieter and Hanlie were highly interested in the emerging technologies that may be coming to portable sanitation in the years to come. We chattered our way through several courses the night we had dinner – contemplating how the ideas currently in development around the world could be adapted to make portable sanitation an even better experience for people. When we parted ways that evening – me for a series of flights that would take 32 hours from Durban to Minneapolis and the Jamnecks for their 6 hour drive back to Pretoria – I sensed their excitement. "We talked about those things all the way home!" says Pieter. I bet they did – and if there is an opportunity to be found within them, I am confident the Jamnecks will find it. __________________________ * BEE is an acronym for Black Economic Empowerment, a program of the South African government to help citizens who have been previously disadvantaged reverse the effects of the nation's past systemic limitations.
