Dispatch #2 from South Africa PSAI is at the table for the de velopment of an International Working Agreement on Sustainable Fecal Sludge Processing Systems More than 10 0 professionals from around the world gathered in Durban, South Africa last week to begin the process of creating an International Working Agreement (IWA) on the technical specifications for a new generation of waste processors. The effort is being coordin ated by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), with significant funding assistance from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. PSAI Executive Director Karleen Kos joined colleagues rep resenting dozens of nations in this crucial first step of a process that may lead to an ISO technical standard for these systems within the next few years.
