10 I PSAI Association Insight, October 27, 2021 1990-2012 Bill Carroll Minneapolis continued to serve as the Association headquarters as Bill Carroll became the next executive director. A decorated USMC Master Sergeant who served in Vietnam, this veteran brought even more organization to the PSA. His wife Millicent served many roles in the Association during this time. As the name changed to the PSAI, Bill worked with the Board to expand our reach by having successful Board meetings in Germany, England, Ireland, Austria, and Australia. Through Millicent's hard work and guidance with other members, the PSAI Certification Program was launched in 1992. This meeting was preceded by an extensive open-ended member survey to ascertain ideas and thoughts about the "New PSAI." As a result of this meeting, today's tiered membership program as well as the Association Insight newsletter were created and launched. Computer systems were also updated while new audit and organizational procedures were implemented. 2014-21 Karleen Kos With the Association now on firm footing, an "association professional" was needed. With over 19 years of managerial experience in associations combined with an MBA with a concentration in not-for-profit associations, her résumé would be the envy of any organization seeking an executive director. Fortunately for the PSAI, Karleen Millicent Carroll (continued on page 12) Jeff Wigley
