If any dangers are present, move away from the area and call 911.. o Notify the primary and/or secondary contact from the list above. o Follow any emergency safety procedure you may have such as cordoning the area from workers or the public. o If you have them on site, use absorbent socks or booms to contain the spread of the spill, but take steps to ensure you do not come into contact with the spilled material. o Waste from portable restrooms is not hazardous, but it contains bacteria and other naturally occurring pathogens. Although you should avoid contact with spilled material, we strongly advise that anyone attempting to contain the spill with absorbent socks or booms wears personal protective equipment including waterproof footwear, waterproof gloves, and eye protection in case of incidental contact. Training All of our company personnel who may respond to a spill have been trained on the contents and procedures in this plan. If a customer should witness a spill while our personnel are not on your site, call or notify the primary and secondary contacts listed below. Customers should generally not attempt to deal with the spill. Note: if the customer has site personnel that have been trained in dealing with spills of nonhazardous material, they may intervene as needed to contain the spread of the spill and protect the health and safety of attendees/workers. Customers should not attempt to clean up the spill. They should follow the emergency procedures below and our company or our designee will clean the spill. Spill Reporting We will track any spills on a spill log. Appendix B depicts a hard copy version of the log; we reserve the right to record the spill using electronic record keeping in lieu of paper. If a large or catastrophic spill occurs, we will report it to the applicable authorities as mandated by law. Regardless of the size of the spill, we will record the known or possible causes of the spill, the area(s) affected, and effectiveness of the cleanup. We will also discuss measures to prevent a repeat occurrence and note these in the record. Emergency Procedures: ACKNOWLEDGEMENT I have received a copy of the Spill and Response Plan and agree to comply with the information contained herein.
