We will update the spill plan if the substance inventory changes. It is the customer's responsibility to notify the company if a spill occurs when our team members are not present on your site. SSpill Prevention We will use the following general procedures to prevent spills from occurring wherever possible. • Ensure all human waste/domestic septage is stored watertight tanks at customer site or event. • Use equipment and procedures to transfer waste material to our trucks in a manner that is designed to prevent spillage. • Ensure all chemical substances used for cleaning and service are properly labeled. • At the customer's request, provide the Safety Data Sheets (SDSs) for any substances used by our company at the site or event. • Store, dispense, and/or use substances in a way that prevents unplanned or uncontrolled release. • Employ service procedures and best practices designed to minimize spill risk. • Routine checks and consultation with the customer to determine whether additional procedures may be required to prevent spillage or meet local ordinance requirements (e.g., wind mitigation measures, use of containment trays, protective berms, etc.). Unless noted above, our company does not use substances that are considered hazardous. Therefore, our general procedure is for spills to be contained by our site personnel if they are able to do so without risking injury—please see the attached spill procedure in Appendix A for more information. Spill kits are located on all of our vehicles. Disposal of Clean Up Materials Our company uses only legal methods of waste disposal and complies with all federal, state/provincial, and local requirements. We disclose the contents of all material routinely pumped or cleaned up to our waste disposal facility.
