ASSOCIATIONINSIGHT Portable Sanitation Association International News BIWEEKLY EDITION MARCH 3, 2021 Page 3 April Virtual Educational Conference: For Your Whole Team…continued from page 1 Take a look at the entire schedule on page 5. You'll see there's something for everyone. Here are a few highlights: Tuesday, April 13 Is Industry Day On Tuesday we'll be covering topics that matter to company leaders. But nobody will be turned away – so invite your team members if you think they'll benefit from this great information. • A Look Down the Road in Rental. Our keynote speaker will be Tony Conant, CEO of the American Rental Association. He'll cover equipment and event segment research highlights, the 2020 year in review, and a new forecast for 2021. • Changing Standards in Portable Sanitation. Every five years the PSAI updates the standards relevant to worksites, camps, and other areas where non-sewered sanitation is needed. This year's update is especially important as we consider which COVID-driven changes should be retained in standards that will last longer than the pandemic – and we need your input. Volunteers from the Standards and Guidance Committee will be on hand to explain what changes are being considered and how you can engage in the process of making the new versions the best they can be. • Roundtables. The last year has brought many changes to our work. The afternoon will conclude with two roundtables – one covering changes in truck design to accommodate the need for more fresh water, the other focused on how to grow your business with specialized trailers. Wednesday, April 14 Is Route Driver and Service Personnel Day We know your team is out on routes. But if you can make adjustments, this is a great way to get them some free training on topics that matter to your frontline staff. • HOLLways. Our virtual Hands On Learning Labs or HOLLways will cover important subjects to your portable sanitation operations. Looking for tips and tricks for efficient servicing? Need techniques for maintaining portable restroom equipment in the field and in the yard? Wondering how to place sinks in the field for safety and service as COVID evolves? Your team members will be able to attend three separate HOLLways that address all of these topics. • Roundtables for Service Personnel. Three separate roundtable discussions will be offered covering topics that matter in the field. "Dealing with Difficult Jobsites and Difficult Customers" will be discussed in the first session, followed by a service tech brainstorm meeting to discover and share procedural changes that improve field efficiency. The afternoon will wind up with a conversation on "Service Technicians as Salespeople," covering the best ideas for helping these critical staff members grow your business in the field. If your team members can't attend everything, don't worry. Recordings will be available later. But remember, these are interactive sessions, so your staff will get more out of each session if they are able to attend the conference when things are live. Continued on page 4
