Disturbingly in recent years, their capacity and operational issues often leave portable sanitation companies without a convenient or affordable disposal option. Because of this trend and the organization's wider vision of ensuring clean, safe sanitation is available to everyone, the PSAI participated in the development of the new standard. The technologies that are being developed for use in areas where POTWs don't exist internationally will also have application to portable sanitation in developed countries.
