Restroom Trailers: Thoughts and Trends in 2020…continued from page 7
She states that "drive-in movies are becoming a reality once again and small trailers are ideal at these venues."
Andy Gump also has a large movie production business and small trailers in more locations, particularly those
close to the production stage are more popular than large trailers in a central location.
Andy Gump's COVID-19 protocol is a very thorough written document and this information is also shared with
their customers. Trailers are disinfected on the yard before delivery, after delivery, and at pickup. Nancy says that
they also give extra consideration to "touch points" inside and outside the trailer. These areas include doorknobs,
stall handles, faucet handles, outside handrails, and similar areas.
In the future, Nancy is of the opinion that "individual stalls with individual sinks" will be in high demand. Again,
a variety of options for a variety of customer needs will be important. "We provide service in natural disasters,
such as the current massive California fires, and restroom trailers, shower trailers, and combinations of both are
required."
As has been pointed out several times, Nancy also suggests being aware of ADA requirements with respect to
trailers, as well as other equipment such as hand wash sinks. "Educating your customer and communicating with
the local permit officials are very important."
Final Thoughts
Restroom trailers have arrived! This equipment is now an integral part of our industry and customer demand is
increasing. Consider a trailer fleet that is diverse and that meets the need of your company's market environment.
The PSAI has a wealth of material and contacts concerning trailers and Members should take advantage of this
benefit. v
