Down the Road A Piece New Michigan law allows for portable restroom tr ansport Farmers in Michigan may now transport portable toilets across a roadway without a septic hauler's license, according to The County Press of eastern Michigan . Public Act 271 of 2018 allows farmers to move toilets as the workers move into different f ields to reduce the amount of time lost waiting for a contractor to do the work. There are still limitations, of course. T hey cannot move them along a limited access or public highway and they must transport them in a way that prevents leakage of waste. Wi ll this new law set a precedent? READ THE STORY United Rentals Acquires Cambium Building & Construction Move means expanded on - site services United Rentals, Inc. (NYSE: URI) announced that it has acquired the assets of Cambium Building & Construction Services ("Cambium BCS") from parent company Cambium United, L.P. Cambium BCS operated its portable restroom and sanitation servi ces as Chem - Can Building & Construction Services in Oklahoma and MMG Building & Construction Services in Texas. The acquisition expands United Rentals' Reliable Onsite Services specialty network to 15 locations in five states. Customers in upstate New York , Ohio, Oklahoma, North Carolina and Texas now have access to approximately 19,000 portable sanitation units, while more than 200 restroom trailers are available to customers throughout the United States. "We're excited to add a talented group of employee s with a strong, customer - first culture," said Paul McDonnell, senior vice president of sales and specialty opera tions for United Rentals, said. " This addition of Cambium BCS extends the reach of our portable sanitation network into markets where construct ion and industrial customers, municipalities and special event venues use a range of our services. The growth of our specialty segment continues to be an important cornerstone of our strategy." The company added three cold - start locations to Reliable O nsite Services through June, and 11 cold - starts to its other specialty platforms: five in Power and HVAC, four in Pump Solutions and two in Trench Safety. In July, the company announced the planned acquisition of BakerCorp, a leader in fluid solutions. United Rentals, Inc. is the largest equipment rental company in the world.
