South Korean culture embraces excrement
In South Korea, poop is all the rage , but this is nothing new. In
fact, it's as old as agriculture itself. As an agrarian society in
ancient times, Korea used human waste as fertilizer in an
ultimate example of the circle of life. It was the invention of
modern toilets that finally turned our gold to waste; yet
Koreans are not buying into it. They are, however, buying into
the commercialization of poop with Poop Café, poop pastries,
poop character toys, and a to ilet museum complete with
sculptures demonstrating how Koreans have pooped through
the ages. Read the interesting and rich history of excrement in
Korea Exposé.
