You Can't Ignore This Pop - Up Portable A Winnipeg arc hitect has built a bright orange public restroom "structure" in an effort to raise awareness for the lack of public toilets in the area Winnipeg is joining the list of cities around the globe focusing on revamping their public toilet facilities in their d owntown area. Or, maybe we should say they are recreating them. In this lengthy but informative piece from Winnipeg Free Press we learn the history of public washrooms in the city, once called Comfort Stations, and why they were destroyed decades later. Wi ns Bridgman, founder of BridgmanCollaborative Architecture is launching his design, Pop - Up Winnipeg Public Toilet. Bridgman, a longtime advocate for more public toilets, aims to destroy the taboo around our bodily functions by making his toilets the center of attention. Check out his bright orange structure, complete with a sign bigger than the actual toilets, and an attached café with an employee selling TBD items. The facility will be moved every two to three weeks to different locations throughout the ci ty, and the entire project is set to cost under $100,000.
