REMINDER: PSAI to Offer Basic Service
Technician Training Course
ONLINE in February
The PSAI is pleased to announce that its Basic Service Technician
Training Course will be avai lable once again in an online format
on Thursday, February 15, from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm CST
This course is designed to teach the basic competencies required for
success in the role of a portable sanitation professional and serves as a prep
course for those seeking certification through the PSAI.
Attendees will learn:
• Relevant standards (OSHA, ANSI, ADA, PSAI Code of Excellence, etc.)
• Construction of portable restrooms and trailer
• Standards for transporting, placing and servicing of equipment
• Equipment qu ality control and maintenance
• Waste disposal procedures and wastewater treatment issues
• Spill handling
• Infection control
• Driving related issues – tank vehicle information, inspection/repair, physical condition of drivers, accident reporting
To take advant age of the course, companies will need to:
• Register and pay for each attendee. Forms are available on the PSAI website here http://psai.org/about - certification/
• Pay for materials to be shipped to your location. In order to ensure that materials can be se nt in a timely manner, the
deadline to register is MONDAY, February 5.
• Provide each attendee with an individual computer and high speed internet access, or set up a room with a large screen
on which the course can be streamed to multiple attendees. If neit her of these is practical, reserve space at a location
where such facilities are available (e.g., libraries, community colleges). The PSAI will consult and assist you with these
preparations to the extent possible.
This course is preparation for the PSAI Certification exam.
Companies interested in having team members certified will need to:
• Register and pay for each attendee's exam fee
• Appoint a non - bias proctor from outside the company to assist with
exam administration. For more information on procedur es for

For those interested in the Basic Service Technician Training Course and the Certification Exam but prefer an in - person learning
environment, the next classroom op portunity will be at the OWPI Conference in Collinsville, Illinois on January 31, 2018 – or at
