W EEKLY EDITION JAN 10, 2018 Joke of the Week A very successful portable sanitation operator had a meeting with his new son - in - law. "I welcome you into the family!" said the man. "To show you how much we care for you, I am making you a 50 - 50 partner in the family business. All you have to do is show up on the yard every day and learn the operation." The son - in - law interrupted. "I hate trucks. I can't stand the noise and the fumes make me light - headed." "I see," replied the father - in - law. "Well, then you'll work in the office and take charge of some of the business, sales and technology things." "I hate office work," said the son - in - law. "I can't stand being stuck behind a desk." "Wait a minute," said the father - in - law. "I just made you half owner of a money - making company, but you don't l ike trucks, and won't work in an office. What am I going to do with you?" "Easy," said the son - in - law. "Buy me out." © Portable Sanitation Ass ociation International (PSAI) • 2626 E 82 n d Street, Suite 175 • Bloomi ngton, MN 55425 www.psai.org • 952 - 854 - 8300 Note: The PSAI is committed to bringing Members industry news. No Plumbing, No Problem The new SaTo, or "Safe Toilet," is yet another game changer in areas of the world where plubming is not an option With help from the Bill Melinda Gates Foundation and American Standard, Japanese toilet company, Lixil has created a "Safe Toilet" for areas in the world where there is no plumbing. The new SaTo comes equipped with a trap door that keeps waste and odor under the surface away from its users, who need only to pour water down to make it function. "Nobody with our engineering, manufacturing, distribution, and procurement skills is doing this," says general manager, Jim McHale. According to a report Lixi l released last summer, $220 billion is spent each year globally due to lack of proper sanitation. SaTo has become its own division of the Lixil company and they expect to begin turning a profit within the next few years. READ THE STORY
