PSAI Basic Service Technician Training Course and Certification Exam
Saturday, November 4, 8:00 am – 12:00 pm
The PSAI Basic Service Technician Training Course and Certification Exam set the
standard for basic knowledge in our industry. This course is designed to teach the
competencies required for success in the role of a portable sanitation
professional and serves as a prep course for those seeking cert ification through
the PSAI.
You will learn:
• Relevant standards (OSHA, ANSI, ADA, PSAI Code of Excellence, etc.)
• Construction of portable restrooms and trailers
• Standards for transporting, placing and servicing of equipment
• Equipment quality control and ma intenance
• Waste disposal procedures and wastewater treatment issues
• Spill handling
• Infection control
• Driving related issues – tank vehicle information, inspection/repair, physical condition of drivers, accident reporting
This session acts as preparation f or our Certification Exam. The course and exam are not requirements of one another and you
do not have to take the exam after completing the course – nor do you need to take the course prior to sitting for the exam.
However, in some states both the Basic S ervice Technician Training Course and the exam are required for licensure. It also may
be beneficial to note that the course itself is approved for continuing education in multiple states. Be sure to check with y our
state's licensing body for details.
Wh ile the two training courses mentioned on the previous page are free and are included with your Nuts and Bolts registration,
the Basic Service Technician Training Course and the Certification Exam are not included in your registration fee and require a
