As he lay in his room, he frequently felt the need for the lavatory. Yet every time he hurried there, nothing happened. So when the man felt the churning urge yet again, he decided it was another false alarm and stayed in bed. To his horror, that time it was the real deal, and he thoroughly soiled his bedsheets with diarrhea. Just then he heard his wife and her mother coming down the hallway to visit him. He simply could not let his mother-in-law see the mess, so in a moment of panic he yanked the sheets from his bed and tossed them out the open window of his hospital room. At just that moment a drunk was stumbling down the street. He was below the window and the ill-fated linens landed right on top of him. He started yelling and cursing, swinging his arms violently, trying to get the unknown things off of him. After a short while the sheets were all in a messy pile at his feet. As the drunk stood there panting and swaying under the effects of his last drinks, he studied the mound of fabric. Just then a hospital security guard walked up. He had seen the whole thing. Barely containing his laughter he said to the drunk, "What the heck is going on here?" The drunk, still staring down replied, "I think I just beat the *@#! out of a ghost!"
