Please Contribute to Our PSAI History Project
By Jeff Wigley, Past PSAI President
W
e hope that you are enjoying our continuing series of
articles this year on the history of the PSAI as well as the
history of our industry. Thus far, we have explored the
first organizational meeting of the PSA, the history of trade shows
and conventions, the evolution of the deodorizer industry, and,
most recently, we have shared the stories of some of the pioneers
of our industry. There are many more stories to be told!
To that point, we would certainly appreciate contributions from
our membership. Please take time to examine your "archives" and
generously share information such as:
Vintage Photos
Old photos are getting harder and harder to track. Please
check your files for any vintage images, including:
• Members at PSAI Conventions or Pumper Shows
• Members at meeting or events outside of shows
• Equipment at historic events (large concerts, World's Fairs,
Olympics, inaugurations, dedication ceremonies, and
other occasions)
• Any other historical images related to portable sanitation
Historic Products
• Wood or fiberglass units, fiberglass restroom
trailers, service trucks through the years
• Important documents
• Old PSAI newsletters
• Former signs or advertisements for your company
"War Stories"
• Any instances of past experiences that other
members would find of interest.
• Examples of alliances or competition, innovations, lessons learned, or chance meetings.
I would greatly appreciate any photos, images, memories, insights, historical tales or related information that
you have to share that can help us to better preserve and publicize the amazing history of our industry and our
beloved PSAI. Please contact me by phone at 770-206-0704 or by email.
THANK YOU!
