"We added a line to our Monthly Rental Agreement stating that service includes a light interior cleaning at time of scheduled service. In regard to the pandemic, daily/hourly sanitizing and cleaning are the responsibility of the Lessee." This information is very straightforward and enhances company to customer communication. 2. Begin marketing and sales contacts for events in 2021 As has been mentioned above, with events "making a come back" next year, several operators are resolving to be proactive in their approach to this marketplace. Summary With all the ideas and insights shared by a variety of operators, these categories and lists of business resolutions are helpful. That said, what does an example of a goal-oriented plan for 2021 look like? From a very practical and experienced point of view, Nancy Gump with Andy Gump Company shared her views on this topic and summarized how a company can incorporate all of the areas of "resolutions" we have covered. With three generations of business success, the following should be of benefit to all members. Nancy shares, "We do strategic planning to set goals and action steps for the upcoming year. We also review last year's plan and see what we accomplished and what we need to continue to work on." She continues, "We look at sales goals and as well as the operational needs of our business." As referenced in this article, the Andy Gump Company has always evaluated their inventory and equipment needs at the start of each new year. Nancy has another excellent piece of advice, "While projecting equipment needs, be fluid as well. No one could have predicted a doubling of sink demand at the beginning of 2020." Employees are also a major priority. Nancy and her managerial team anticipate increases or decreases in personnel for the coming year. It is no surprise that they are anticipating an increase in personnel in 2021. Another effective strategy is being aware of the hiring trends and employment changes in the marketplace. With years of experience, Nancy also makes a point of examining and evaluating her company's benefits plan to attract and to retain the best employees. As can be seen from Nancy's experience and viewpoint, the business, the employees, and the customers should be the areas of focus when making business-related "Resolutions for 2021."
