ASSOCIATIONINSIGHT Portable Sanitation Association International News BIWEEKLY EDITION DECEMBER 9, 2020 Page 3 Continued on page 4 Positive Operator Reviews on PSAI's Virtual Conference…continued from page 1 We would like to thank members who took the time to share their opinions, thoughts, and ideas as to this most successful endeavor: • Jonathan Sandoval—PSAI Board Member—SouthPoint Rentals, Kingsville, Texas • Trevor Inman—Honey Bucket, Puyullap, Washington • Breanna McKay—Luxury Restroom Trailers by Privy Chambers, Portland, Oregon • Beau Kerr—C & L Sanitation, Perrysburg, Ohio Technology and Ease of Use The PSAI's contractor for this event was The Planner Collective, an online event marketing and virtual events planning company. With their diverse marketing clientele as well as their real-time technical support, the PSAI Board made a very sound decision. The innovative technology that made our virtual event possible is a platform called Hopin. Hopin has been in business for several years and one of their company goals was extremely attractive to the PSAI. According to Hopin.com, "Our system is unique in that it enabled meaningful interactions and networking between people online, just like at an in-person event. We chose to focus on engagement more than content— we wanted people to not just watch but be the experience themselves." This goal ideally matches the character and the history of the PSAI. As I have always said, "The PSAI is more of an extended family than an association of members." Breanna McKay with Luxury Restrooms by Privvy Chambers was so impressed with this platform that she said, "We may recommend this for wedding shows and other organizations that we are involved with." The ability to have more interaction between attendees as opposed to the more static "watch the speaker on the screen" concept is ideal for the PSAI. Board Member and General Manager of SouthPoint Rentals, Jonathan Sandoval, observed that the PSAI Virtual Conference was "very beneficial and the system was very easy to navigate." "I found the system to be very user friendly," stated Beau Kerr with C & L Sanitation. "I was in and out of the Conference on several occasions due to my position here at work and I had no problems making the transition." Trevor Inman of Honey Bucket reported that the Conference was "better than expected and we only experienced a few technical difficulties." Trevor was impressed with the ability for all attendees to interact with each other, particularly in our "trademark" PSAI roundtables. As with everything in life, there is always some room for improvement and refinement. Breanna commented, "We joked that once we were able to get in, this system was very, very good." The daily emails from the PSAI office to all attendees with the appropriate sign on links was very innovative and extremely helpful to all.
