ASSOCIATIONINSIGHT Portable Sanitation Association International News BIWEEKLY EDITION OCTOBER 14, 2020 Page 5 Continued on page 6 Introducing the Member Compass By Emily Newberg, PSAI's Director of Membership and Credentialing I am beyond excited to introduce you to our new member platform. It is making me so happy even the coronavirus can't bring me down! I don't know about you, but the last thing I need to remember these days is various usernames, virtual events I've registered for, memberships I need to renew before they expire, and to read the cooking instructions before I throw food packages away. That's why I'm so excited about something as humdrum as a database. Yes, I'm a self-professed data nerd, but being as such, it saddens my heart when a platform isn't user-friendly and delivers more confusion than information. But now, when you log in to our beautiful new website, you will see everything you need to know about your account with the PSAI in one handy place called the Member Compass. It makes everything so clear you can save some of your focus for those domestic travails you suffer while exhausted, like cooking a meal that doesn't come in a package—aha! But first, you'll want to make sure you have an individual (as opposed to company) account with us. Do I Have an Account with the PSAI? If your company is a member of the PSAI, every staff person can—and should!—create an individual account If you believe you already have an individual account with us, and if you received this newsletter in your email box, then you do. To access your account, visit psai.org, click "Login" in the upper right corner, and follow the prompts. If you haven't logged in to our new site yet, you will be asked to create a password. But from now on, you'll only need to remember your email and password—no more usernames! If you don't already have your own personal account, then click "Join" and a screen will pop up asking whether your company is already a member or if you are applying for a new membership. You'll want to click "CREATE AN ACCOUNT." When you do that, you will automatically be connected to your company's membership benefits when you choose it from the drop-down menu that will appear on the online form. A note for company leaders: we want your team members to have access as individuals. That will help us give them access to our events, keep their training and certification records straight, and ultimately serve both you and them better. To make this possible, all of your users must have their own unique email addresses in the system. That way they'll be able to receive one-time use private links for virtual events and continuing education credits for participation in events. Because of the need to track individual attendance through these personalized one-time use links, the system will not allow someone to register an account with an email address already in use.
