Named Greasezilla, the system separates greasy waste into defined layers that can be used for fuel, biodigested, or discharged to treatment facilities. Isaias Topples Porto at Golf Course An article about a Suffolk County, New York golf championship match included the photo at left along with thanks to the grounds crew. After Tropical Storm Isaias came through Shelter Island, a two-man crew had to clear downed trees and other debris from the golf course and right the toppled portable toilet. Fortunately, no one was in the portable unit or injured by the falling branches and trees on the course, and play concluded as scheduled. Read the full story here. Portable Toilets Help Beach Goers The mayor of Tiny Township in Ontario asked the town council to develop a policy for where portable units are deployed after a neighborhood dispute. In the mean time, because of increasing traffic to parks that have beach access and closed public restrooms, the council is monitoring crowds at the larger beach parks and installing more portable toilets to meet the heightened demand. Read the full story here. Rules for Events in Times of COVID The Event Safety Alliance's Reopening Guide for Event Professionals during the COVID-19 Pandemic sets new rules for concerts. For example, moshing and crowd surfing are strictly prohibited, and even performers might need to observe social distancing. In addition, "Workers should limit occupancy of restrooms to ensure social distancing. Unless portable restroom facilities are added, this will likely result in patrons waiting outside the restroom doors" where monitors will enforce distancing and manage the queues.
