No. The platform is web based and you will receive a link and login credentials once you register. Can attendees access virtual events through a mobile device, tablet, or computer? Yes. The platforms are responsive to mobile phones and tablets. While it is easier to use the larger screens of a computer, smaller screens will work just fine. Can attendees access virtual events live as well as on-demand? Yes. You can watch an event live, join it in progress, or watch the virtual speaker or meeting even after the conference ends. Can attendees chat with other attendees in the virtual space? Yes. There are many places on the platform to connect with other attendees including live presentations, lounges, and exhibitor booths. You can also create your own meeting and invite whomever you want. Can attendees submit questions to speakers in the virtual space? Yes. A moderator sees questions for the speaker that you don't have to send over the chat. At the end of the speaker's presentation, the moderator will ask the presenter those questions. Can attendees search and filter virtual event sessions? Yes. You can display just the sessions you want to attend or keep the whole schedule up and follow along. Are there ways for attendees to engage via chat, polls, and a whiteboard? Yes. Virtual platforms know that these options are very important to attendees and event hosts. You will find chatting, polling, and brainstorming options as part of the virtual experience. Is there a way for attendees to go live during a virtual event? Yes. If have something you want to talk about with others at the event, you can create a "room" that is posted for others to see that will open at a specific time. You can invite attendees and send them a link. Are there ways for attendees to network with each other? Yes. Virtual platforms have lounges. As an exhibitor, you can open your lounge at anytime—even at the end of the convention presentations—just as you would live on site before everyone heads out to dinner. You can theme your lounge, have fun with topics, or even set up a presentation. Do trade show exhibitors have freedom to set up their virtual booth anyway they want? Yes. Every virtual booth has the option to play a welcome video or message and you can have a live agent ready to chat with attendees. You can have all of the information you would have at a real booth, including sales sheets, product photos, and catalogs. After all of these months living in a pandemic and having more computer time than we ever wanted, we know that a virtual convention and trade show isn't ideal. However, association meetings are about connections and interactions and this is how we need to connect with each other right now. It is still important for your business to be active in the industry and we believe you will be pleasantly surprised by what you can get accomplished using a virtual platform to attend a convention and trade show. We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible this November 17–20 at the PSAI Convention and Trade Show Virtual Event. Look for registration details coming soon! v What's It Like to Attend a Virtual Conference?…Continued from page 21
