THE NEXT GENERATION Carl Arriola—PortaPros PortaPros was founded in 2012 but their other brands have served the Treasure Valley region of southwestern Idaho and Eastern Oregon since 1990. The company provides the standard portable restroom products in addition to restroom trailers, trash boxes, and temporary fencing. PortaPros also features GAP-compliant portable and trailer-mounted restrooms for agricultural customers. The company also provides equipment for emergency services throughout their service area. Carl Arriola, PortaPros' president, is a US Army veteran and has a background in senior management positions with the construction, rental, software, and health industries. This experience has certainly come in handy during these challenging times. Carl prefaced the discussion by making the point that "quality and service are the keys to success in any economic condition." As far as 2020 has shaped up thus far, PortaPros is "ahead of last year's performance to date but the revenue mix is now different. Construction is up and events are down." Looking ahead to the future economy, Carl makes the point that "in business, everything is cyclical so always be prepared." His suggestions to other members are to "attempt to maintain a consistent and diverse customer base." In addition to the "traditional customers" in the commercial, residential, remodeling, and special events marketplaces, PortaPros serves customers in the agriculture, mining, emergency service, and government areas.
