During lunch at work, Steve ate three plates of beans (which he knew he shouldn't have done, but gosh they were tasty). When he got home, his excited wife, Ellen, met him at the door and said, "Honey, I have a surprise for dinner tonight!" She then blindfolded him and led him to his chair at the dining room table. Steve took a seat, and just as Ellen was about to remove the blindfold, there was a ruckus in the kitchen; the dog had tipped over the trash can. Making him promise not to touch the blindfold until she returned, Ellen ran to the kitchen to check on the mess and put the dog outside. While Ellen was away, the beans Steve had consumed were still affecting him and the pressure was becoming unbearable. So he seized the opportunity, shifted his weight to one leg and let one go. It was not only loud, but it smelled like a fertilizer truck running over a skunk in front of a garbage dump! Steve took his napkin from his lap and fanned the air vigorously. Then, shifting to the other leg, he ripped off three more. The stink was worse than cooked cabbage. Keeping his ears carefully tuned to the dog situation in the other room, Steve went on releasing atomic bombs like this for as long as he could get away with it. Finally, when he heard Ellen coming back Steve quickly fanned the air a few more times with his napkin, placed it on his lap and waited, feeling very relieved and pleased with himself. Upon her return, Ellen asked if he had peaked through the blindfold, and Steve assured her he had not. At this point, Ellen removed the blindfold, and 12 dinner guests seated around the table, with their hands to their noses, chorused, "Happy Birthday!"
