Fighting for Potty Parity
A recent editorial in The Student Life lays out the case for hastening efforts to
equalize bathroom wait times for women and men. Typically, women wait up
to 34 times longer than men. Not only should there be more thought put into
bathroom design, the author argues, there should be a move to gender-
neutral facilities that put everyone on even footing.

Orlando Debates Options for
Public Toilets
Orlando's mobile toilet program has sparked more debate over the best
options and costs for bringing portable public restrooms to the downtown.
The latest proposal involves the Portland Loo (pictured at left) that features
graffiti-proof metal walls. Graffiti has been a big problem in the city. Not
all members of the Redevelopment Advisory Committee are sold on the
new proposal or portable toilets in general.

Operation Brown Trout
As reported on Sacramento CBS 13 recently, a local man has set himself a
mission to privately finance portable toilets along sections of the American
River Parkway. The goal is to encourage the public to put their "brown trout"
in the toilet rather than polluting the river. Once he can obtain permits, the
man hopes to place the units near homeless camps.
