In addition to the usual concerns concerning the placement of units, keep in mind the effects of snow, ice, and
wind.
• If possible, turn the units so the doors are not as likely
to be caught in a cold wind.
• Make sure service trucks can reach the unit if it snows.
Your customer is responsible for snow removal on his
own property. So there is no question of this, be sure
it is covered in your contracts. You may want to reach
out to your customers in advance of the first snow to
remind them and offer tips on keeping their units in
optimal condition during colder weather.
• Make sure the path of travel to the units will be safe in
snowy or icy conditions.
• Some jurisdictions require that units be heated. If you
live in one of those jurisdictions, be sure you are
providing equipment and service
that is compliant
with the law. Also be sure that you have language in
your rental contracts that cover the customer's
responsibility for providing power.
