A panel of portable sanitation experts finished up the afternoon by tackling the popular topic of "Winning Special Events Contracts and Delivering Excellence On Site." Panelists (l-r) were Tammy Thompson-Oreskovic, Arnold's Environmental; Chip Herrald, Crosiers Inc; Joshua Perez, Texas Waste Disposal; Bill Reynolds Jr, Rent-A-John Portable Sanitation; Derek Pauling, Biffs; and Jeff Wolfarth, Mr John of Pittsburgh. The session was facilitated by Past President Jeff Wigley. Despite the lateness of the hour, attendees were engaged and working the numbers as they listened to industry leaders describe the process of successfully pulling off events for tens of thousands of people. WEEKLY EDITION NOVEMBER 20, 2019 PAGE 11 Scott Thone, PSAI Board President for 2019-20 welcomed attendees to the conference. He thanked the organization's titanium and platinum Members for their support over and above the value they receive for their dues. He also thanked coffee break sponsors, volunteers, and staff who made the event possible — and gave a special shout out to NTR Rents and Texas Outhouse for hosting such outstanding site visits this year. Keynote speaker Barbara Weltman discussed key concepts in minimizing the tax burden portable sanitation companies pay. Her annually published volume JK Lasser's Small Business Taxes 2020 was hot off the press, and she gave a copy away to a member of the audience.
