When you post on social media or on your website that you are at an industry event or volunteering as an expert during a round table discussion, you are letting your customers and peers know that you take your work seriously and are dedicated to do the best job you can. You may feel that the hard work you are already doing is enough and there is sufficient positive word of mouth a bout your company already. The truth is, there is always room to grow and not utilizing industry events to your advantage means you are missing a valuable opportunity. You are allowed to have fun Attending an industry event is not a vacation from your bu siness but you are still allowed to have fun. There is important work that needs to be accomplished for sure. Of course you will want a positive return of your time and financial investment of the event. However, it does not mean that going to an event has to be all work and no play. PSAI events build in time for social interactions and fun activities that you should enjoy. Before arriving at an e vent, you will receive a "Know Before You G o" email that will contain things to do, tourist attractions and even restaurant listings. It is totally acceptable to use a business event to enjoy a city you have never visited before or to take an extra day or two for sightseeing.
