W EEKLY EDITION OCTOBER 16, 2019 The Sig ht s a t the Sit e V isi ts By Karleen Kos, PSAI Executive Director …continued from page 2 Texas Outhouse At our second location, we'll grab some lunch and then check out the sights on the sprawling yard at Texas Outhouse. The company has set up a number of information stations, and we'll tour in small groups so you don't miss a thing. Texas Outhouse was founded in 1994 as Gainsborough W aste; they added portable sanitation five years later. Now with twenty - five years' experience under their belt, the company has transitioned to second generation leaders. Texas Outhouse continues to grow, distinguishing itself in numerous ways you'll see o n the tour. • The 26 - acre concrete yard is home to a huge amount of equipment. You'll see how it is organized, and you'll learn how security cameras provide safety and oversight for the entire property. • In the office you'll learn about the dispatch and back room operations that support 200 employees conducting some 10,000 services a week. • On the yard you can visit the area where dozens of luxury restroom trailers are maintained and warehoused. You'll learn how Texas Outhouse ensures the trailers are out as mu ch as possible and customers are uniformly pleased with the experience. • You'll see specialty shops including the maintenance, welding, and tire buildings and learn from the employees who keep them running. • On the way, you can peek into the repair and wash facility. It's partially automated which helps the company keep things moving at a consistent pace. • You'll also see and learn about the on site waste water treatment facility Texas Outhouse opened in 2017. With diminishing capacity at treatment plants all over North America, there is much you can learn from this company's experience. Just about the time your feet are aching and your head is breaking with new information, we'll head back to the Omni Houston where you can relax with friends and talk over everything you've seen. As one operator said, "I wasn't really planning to go to Houston until I heard about the site visits. Now I wouldn't miss it!" If you feel the same way, be sure to register soon. See y ou in Houston! - KK P AGE 14
