The philosophy behind Samantha's show is to connect
the travel experience with the person sitting on the
couch. Each 30 - minute episode is a montage of
interviews, eclectic footage o f hidden gems and lessons
learned that expands viewer minds and dispels any
misconceptions. Here are some of the highlights of
Baltimore from the show and also from the Baltimore
Visitors Bureau.
Historic Fell's Point
Baltimore is nicknamed the "Charm Ci ty" and was once
a major shipbuilding center for the original 13
colonies. Established in 1763, this National Historic
District has over 161 buildings on the National Register
of Historic Places including the oldest standing
residence in Baltimore. It is believed that 600 ships
were built at Fell's Point .
Family Friendly Destinations
Baltimore boasts an impressive list of significant
museums and art institutions, and it has positioned itself
as one of the most creative cities in the world. You can
see thi s on display at the American Visionary Art
Museum where people who have not received formal
training create art. Many times, the artists are those who
are unable to communicate unless it is through artistic
expression. You might also want to go to the Nati onal
Aquarium and get up close and personal with
thousands of species such as jellyfish, tiger
salamanders , or bottlenose dolphins while watching a
4D immersion film. If science is your
thing, The Maryland Science Center is perfect for
exploring everything from dinosaurs to human anatomy. Other places you may want to check out: Babe
Ruth Birthplace Museum, Baltimore Museum of Art, Reginald F. Lewis Museum of Maryland African
American History and Culture, B&O Railroad Museum or the Star - Spangled Banner Flag H ouse .
