For Echo Park's
Homeless People, a
Welcome Pit Stop
One city's effort to deal with chronic
homelessness
One homeless community in Los Angeles is
benefiting from a trial run of two portable
units, a hand washing sink, and a co ntainer for
tossing used needles. The Echo Park Pit Stop
was enough of a success that the city has
voted to add two more such pit stops and has
extended their service for one year.
