WEEKLY EDITION SEPTEMBER 12, 2018 PAGE 2 Join the Board for Service With a Smile SIEGMANN NOMINATION CONTINUED FROM PAGE 1 What have I taken from the PSAI? Having started my company in 1972 I can point to numerous improvements and ideas I have taken home from meetings and implemented in my company. I can confidently say that without the PSAI my road would have been much, much more difficult. So, what is my point? The opportunity for all of these ideas, tips, and pointers would not be there except for the sacrifices made by men and women of character that said, "Yes, I'll help. I'll take on the challenge to help guide the direction of the PSAI and in doing so, help improve our industry." You will find in this newsletter all the information you need to apply for the Board of Directors, so you too can influence the direction of the PSAI. You too can give back to our industry, influence the next generation, and help ensure proper sanitation for future generations. Sounds exciting? Sure it is. Sounds gratifying and fulfilling? Sure it is. Sounds like a lot of work? Sure it is. But you won't be alone. The Executive Director and PSAI staff are always there to help. The Board itself is a team helping each other towards a common goal. Along with commitment comes responsibilities. You will be required to attend Board meetings. There is a monthly one- or two- hour teleconference meeting. Physical attendance is strongly encouraged at our Convention and Trade Show, our Nuts and Bolts Educational Conference, as well as one annual destination Board meeting. You will be sent a Board packet ahead of each meeting and you will be expected to prepare and participate. You do not have to own a company to serve on the Board, but you do need the support of your company if you chose to run. This means they will support you both in the use of your time and funding the costs of fulfilling your responsibilities. As the PSAI grows and expands the impact it has on our industry's success, I hear a lot of people say "they sure did a nice job." Become part of the "they." Fill out a nomination form and let's do this! -- ds Welcome to the Club! The PSAI is thrilled to add these new Members!
