"This weekend will be very moderate for us," says Susan Edmunds of
Edmunds Waste Removal. "This is not quite as big as the Fourth of July or
Memorial Day." One of the reasons, she surmises, is that back - to - school
season looms large: "Families are f ocused on that." But, she points out
that her business is good in other areas in a very competitive market in
Richmond, Virginia.
Then there are others who will do what the rest of America does – take a
holiday.
"Fortunately for my drivers, we don't hav e much go i ng on," says Cheryl
Atabay of Bay Area Temporary Sanitation, adding that 98 percent of her
business is construction, and those sites won't be bustling on Labor Day .
