W EEKLY EDITION JULY 25, 2018 CONTINUED ON PAGE 11 P AGE 8 Meet the People of the PSAI Staff turnover leads to new faces, new positions CONTINUED FROM PAGE 7 As a member of previous sales organizations I took to heart the phrase "Outrageously support the efforts of the sales team in all respects." Since the PSAI is a small office with a staff four, I believe in that line from Harry Truman's desk, "The buck stops here." Combine them both and I am here to serve the organization in all its efforts with a primary focus on membership growth. My professional background incl udes 20 years at the Star Tribune, the largest daily circulation newspaper in Minnesota. While there, I held a variety of posit ions within sales and marketing as well as consumer promotions. Some highlights include sustained revenue growth in classified ad volume in a tanking market; a first - of - its - kind, one - year price - elasticity study in conjunction with Harvard University, and e xtensive research into the senior - housing segment -- which led to the new publication Senior Living Showcase. Most recently, I was the marketing manager for a family - owned, pet - and hobby farm - supply wholesaler as well as start - up lead for an off - site, ne w - business enterprise. I will also manage the Industry Resource Directory and the media for PSAI events, like the Nuts and Bolts Educational Conference, the PSAI Urgent Run, and the Convention and Trade Show. There are some additional concrete deliverables in the communications area for the upcoming year, which you can read about in a separate story beginning on page 1. But I'm jumping in immediately: In the short - term I'll be largely (but not solely, thank goodness!) responsible for the content transition of the back - end overhaul of our website. My background is in journalism – some 30 years as a reporter, writer, e ditor, broadcaster and educator. I also have been a professional rock 'n' roll drummer during that time. I've mostly been based in the Minneapolis - St. Paul area, but have written
