W EEKLY EDITION JULY 18, 2018 PSAI to Offer Basic - Service Technician Course Online in August Training course available in online format on Tuesday, August 21, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. CDT This course is designed to teach the basic competencies required for success in the role of a portable sanitation professional and serves as a prep course for those seeking certification through the PSAI. Attendees will learn: • Relevant standards (OSHA, ANSI, ADA, PSAI Code of Excellence, etc.) • Construction of portable restrooms and trailer • Standa rds for transporting, placing and servicing of equipment • Equipment quality control and maintenance • Waste disposal procedures and wastewater treatment issues • Spill handling • Infection control • Driving related issues – tank vehicle information, inspection/repa ir, physical condition of drivers, accident reporting To take advantage of the course, companies will need to: • Register and pay for each attendee. Forms are available on the PSAI website here http://ps ai.org/about - certification/ • Pay for materials to be shipped to your location. In order to ensure that materials can be sent in a timely manner, t h e de ad lin e t o r e gi st e r is F R IDA Y , AU GUS T 1 0 . • Provide each attendee with an individual computer and high - speed Internet access, or set up a room with a large screen on which the course can be streamed to multiple attendees. If neither of these is practical, reserve space at a location where such facilities are available (e.g., libraries, community colleges). The P SAI will consult and assist you with these preparations to the extent possible. The course is preparation for the PSAI Certification exam. Companies interested in having team members certified will need to: • Register and pay for each attendee's exam fee • A ppoint a non - bias proctor from outside the company to assist with exam administration.
