W EEKLY EDITION JULY 4, 2018 P AGE 7 W EEKLY EDITION JULY 4, 2018 Meet PSAI Scholarship Winner Sage Staples Sage plans to graduate from Utah Valley University in 2019 with a degree in Elementary Education To receive a PSAI scholarship, you must meet or exceed the basic criteria for GPA and ACT or SAT score. You must also pen a well - written essay on the i mportance of portable sanitation. In addition to these requirements, our winners often have impressive lists of extracurriculars and credentials to accompany their applications. Sage Staple is one such applicant. Sage is the daughter of Darin Staples, an employee of Honey Bucket (NW Cascade), Centervil le, UT. Sage attended Viewmont High School, graduating in 2015. Among her many accomplishments, Sage is a past president of FCCLA (Family, Career and Community Leaders of America), 2015 Sterling Scholar recipient which recognized her pursuit of excelle nce in scholarship, leadership and citizenship. She is also a medallion honoree and past president of Young Women's, she has been an active school volunteer and graduated with honors. Sage plans to finish college in May 2019 and begin teaching in August. Her plan is to teach for 2 years and return to colleg e for post - graduate work so that " I can be the best teacher for my students that I can be ". Her submission entitled "The Importan ce of Portable Sanitation" is a children's primer on portable sanitation featuring SANFORD THE SANITATION GUY! Sanford the Sanitation Guy My name is Sanford and I'm here to teach you all about portable sanitation. Sanitation is all about, creating a safe place for those all around. Portable means being able to be anywhere you want to be. There are many companies to help us achieve, The goal of saving the world you will see. These companies help you and me. There's so many around us that you may or may not see. They're portable restrooms we use sometimes. Whether we're running, or working at our prime. It isn't always easy for the men who work for these companie s But we sure appreciate the comforting safety They provide clean and safe conditions for all mankind. Where we'd be without them I can's seem to call to mind Portable sanitation companies save so much water. Billions and billions of gallons of our fresh clean water They'll be there if disaster strikes, They'll be there and be super liked. In the end they're world class heroes, who deserve a medal
