Trends Affecting the Future of Our Businesses and the Industry as a Whole
We asked all respondents open - ended questions designed to elicit information that reveals the concerns industry
members face each day in the present moment as the things they expect to worry about down the road. These
unstructu red comments will guide the PSAI's Board and staff in evolving the strategic and operating plans that ensure the
organization is anticipating Members' needs and proactively evolving services to meet the needs.
While the following answers are varied, it is safe to say these are among the most critical current challenges companies
are facing:
• Workforce issues: recruitment, training, work quality, retention
• Competitive forces: nature of competitors, competitor behavior, pricing
• Managing the business in gener al and growth in particular
• Disposal and regulatory issues
