Joke of the Week
I had to get the tree surgeon out today as
I'm worried about one of my trees.
He had a good look at it and said "This tree
has a severe fungal infestation. In addition,
the yellow colour of the skin would indicate
a serious bacterial i nfection."
I said, "That sounds bad."
He replied, "Now both of these can be
serious but in my opinion its bark is worse
than its blight."

Learning from the Devel oping World
A West Virginia state park has installed restroom stations
that were originally invented for countries that lack proper
sanitation solutions
Camp Creek State Park in West Virginia has been known
for its scenic beauty, abundant wildlife, and – up until this
week – the stench of their outdoor restrooms. Addressing
the issue head on, the park has installed new comfort
stations that are among only five of their kind in the U.S.
They are GSAP (Global Sustainable Aid Project) Microflush
toilets that eliminate disease vectors and smells. They use less water and use red wiggler worms (the
same found in local forests like Camp Creek State Park) to break down human waste. These toilets are a
progressive solution to a practical problem.
