PSAI Events are Go od – And Survey Reveals Opportunities to
Evolve and Grow …continued
By Karleen Kos, PSAI Executive Director
It makes sense, therefore, to dig a little deeper to understand why people who took the time to complete the survey
didn't attend our event. As you can see on the following chart, there are some interesting differences between Member
companies that don't attend and nonmember companies that don't attend. Notably:
• Nonmember companies are more likely to see attending WWETT as a reason not to attend the PSAI show. They
are more likely not to have heard about our show, and to perceive it as too expensive or not "worth it" overall.
• PSAI Members are more likely to be deterred by obligations (bad time of year in general, business issues,
distance to travel, a nd/or family issues). WWETT may play a minor role in Members' decisions, but the data don't
support the notion that WWETT is drawing PSAI Members away from the PSAI show in large numbers. WWETT is
somewhat more likely to be drawing non - attender nonmembers away from our show.
Turning back to those who attended the show, we wanted to understand how they felt about the show and its value to
them. We asked, "How satisfied were you with your experience at the show?
Generally speaking, operators were happy w ith the event. All but one of the 32 operator companies that completed this
part of the survey was either satisfied or very satisfied. One operating company was somewhat dissatisfied. This appears
to have been a first - time attendee who wasn't familiar with the schedule and didn't arrive in time for people to welcome
and orient him. (See chart on the next page.)
