iThrone is Not an Ap p, It ' s a Toilet
A new device cleverly named the iThrone could be the next big thing for those in sanitation and water
conservation
Another invention in portable toilets is aiming to help
families in developing nations. Diana Yousef, CEO of
Change: Water has created a flushable pouch that
allows liquid to evaporate while keeping the
remaining solids contained and odorless inside the
ne w iThrone. The polymer membrane idea dawned
for Yousef after working with NASA and USAID on a
water initiative for special climates. "These breathable
materials have the ability to allow you to evaporate
water without having to pump in a lot of heat or ene rgy," she explains. The iThrone is still being tested
but Yousef hopes to have an affordable model for families who lack improved sanitation by 2019.
