Diana Yousef, CEO of Change: Water has created a flushable pouch that allows liquid to evaporate while keeping the remaining solids contained and odorless inside the ne w iThrone. The polymer membrane idea dawned for Yousef after working with NASA and USAID on a water initiative for special climates. "These breathable materials have the ability to allow you to evaporate water without having to pump in a lot of heat or ene rgy," she explains. The iThrone is still being tested but Yousef hopes to have an affordable model for families who lack improved sanitation by 2019.
