The 2017 conference is taki ng place from November 1 - 4 in Minneapolis, Minnesota Attendees have arrived in Minneapolis, Minnesota for the 2017 Nuts and Bolts Educational Conference! With a schedule including informative speakers, productive roundtable discussions, local Member visit s, the first ever Urgent Run around Lake Calhoun, and even a trip to the Mall of America, the event is set to be better than ever – and we're already off to a great start! Getting Paid Part III: Choosing a Collections Partner Adapted for the PSAI from articles in Business News Daily and Rocket Lawyer Accounts receivable are great to have – IF you w ill actually receive the money you are owed in a timely fashion. If the accounts are basically uncollectable, then having a hefty AR balance isn't so wonderful. Whether it is because you don't have the time or the skills to go after the cash or because th e customers can't pay, that big AR balance means you worked and didn't get anything out of it. Before you throw in the towel and just write off the accounts, there is one more idea to consider: hiring a collections partner. Collection agencies are focuse d on recovering debts that are past due. These companies often reach out to your unpaid accounts in a number of ways, including by phone, in writing and via email. In extreme cases, they may seek legal recourse on behalf of your company. And the method wor ks – collection agencies are responsible for tens of billions of dollars recouped every year. With the event being local this year (for the first time in decades!) , we were able to skip the rented minivan and the road trip. Instead, we loaded our cars at the PSAI office Tuesday morning and set off for the Marriott a few short miles away.
