The Unexpected Victims of Vault Toilets
The issue of birds becoming trapped inside vault toilet holding tanks had grown to the point where
preventative action was necessary
The summer of 2017 has been a good season for the
Poo Poo Project. Headed by David Watson of
Wyoming's Teton Raptor Center, the program aims to
save the lives of thousands of birds that become
trapped inside the holding tanks of vault toilets every
year. The project, which involves a specially designed
screen over the vault pipe, has expanded to every
state in the nation, a goal they had set for this year.
They are also working towards selling 10,000 screens,
which Watson hopes will "create awareness of this
issue."

Child's Halloween Costume Idea is a Royal Flush
It's not every day that a five-year-old wants to emulate their favorite porcelain bowl
Some kids just know what they want. And some
parents are savvy enough to go with it. Sara Schwartz
was doubtful when her five-year-old, JoJo, asked to
be a toilet for Halloween last year, but the child was
adamant. "She's really shy and quiet, which is funny
that she wanted to be a toilet", says Sara, who wasn't
sure how she would put such a costume together.
Luckily, JoJo's uncle Tommy came through with a
design that was flawless. "She loves it. She thinks it's
the best thing ever and she's super proud of it." What
more could a parent want from their child's own idea?
Check out JoJo's favorite part of her clever costume
in the hilarious video.
