W EEKLY EDITION SEPT 6, 2017 Time to Get Your Employees Certified! The PSAI is pleased to announce that its Basic Service Technician Training Course will be available in an ONLINE FORMAT on October 12, 2017 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm central time. The deadline to register and pay is October 2, 2017. The PSAI office receive s numerous calls on any given week regarding a variety of topics. A considerable amount of these calls are inquiries about our latest training sessions and about our certification program. Throughout the year the PSAI offers a variety of training opportuni ties, thanks to the hard work of the PSAI Training Committee, with a goal of offering at least one course per quarter. In accordance with this goal, this fall we will be offering our Basic Service Technician Training Course in an online format. This training is designed to teach the basic competencies required for success in the role of a portable sanitation professional and serves as a prep course for those interested in taking the PSAI Certification Exam. While neither the course nor the exam are re quirements of each other, best results are seen when the exam is taken immediately after attending the training course. Attendees will learn: • Relevant standards (OSHA, ANSI, ADA, PSAI Code of Excellence, etc.) • Construction of portable restrooms and trail ers • Standards for transporting, placing, and servicing of equipment • Equipment quality control and maintenance • Waste disposal procedures and wastewater treatment issues • Spill handling • Infection control • Driving related issues – tank vehicle information, insp ection/repair, physical condition of drivers, accident reporting In order to ensure that materials can be sent in a timely manner, the deadline to register for this course is October 2, 2017.
