W EEKLY EDITION MAY 31, 2017 And the Survey Says ...continued Interestingly, the PSAI's focus on standards and the Code of Excellence has risen to the second - most important spot among respondents ; it was third last year. The Convention remains in the top three, as it has for the past several years. The Industry Resource Directory and the website round out the top f ive – up from the 7th and 9th position s last year. The weekly newsletter has moved from 10th to 6th this year, while use of the PSAI brand has dropped in relative importance. An important result of the survey was a significant disparity in perception bet ween operators and suppliers. Generally speaking, operators who responded to the survey are happier than suppliers. For example, only 2 operators rated the Annual Convention and Trade Show as 6 or below on a 1 - 10 scale, and the overall "Net Promoter Score" for operators of 65.22% (up from 64.52% last year) tells us that we are headed in the right direction from an operator perspective. Suppliers, on the other hand, wer e less sanguine. Nine of 20 suppliers who answered this question rated the Convention as 6 or below on a 1 - 10 scale, a significant drop from last year. This resulted in an overall "Net Promoter Score" for suppliers of - 20.00. Initial feedback from actual exhibitors on site at the Convention was relatively positive, so this overall rating fr om suppliers will require more investigation. In reviewing the raw survey data it is clear that only a small portion of the actual exhibitors a nswered the question. Hence, the disparity may be the result of non - exhibitors feeling unhappy with show policies , or multiple respondents from one or two particularly unhappy companies. The Board, Executive Director and Events Committee will be doing more research to understand the reasons behind the changed rating and actions we can take to better meet the needs of our supplier Members without negatively affecting other aspects of the PSAI's forward progress. Next week: What respondents are telling us about their businesses and hopes for the future. P AGE 3
