A Message from PSAI Board President Dwayne Siegmann ...continued Our overarching goal is, as our tagline suggests, to bring about "better worksites, better weekends, and a better world." This means providing high quality experiences for users in the developed world and taking part in solutions that ultimately bring proper sanitation to the 2.6 billion people who lack it throug h environmentally friendly toilet alternatives that don't require sources of running water or electricity. In doing so, we are at the table working to ensure the new technologies meet these goals while staying affordable for users and providing a sustainab le business for people like us. The PSAI is working with the International Standards Organization – ISO – the American National Standards Institute – ASNI – and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to help set standards for these new toilet products and t o ensure our industry is ready for them when they arrive in the portable market. During this next year, Karleen will be attending meetings on our behalf, proudly participating in important global initiatives like this one. Something more personal to your company may be our focus on the online training programs being developed by the PSAI. We are doing this so you can have effective training at your own site, eliminating travel costs and time away. When we think of where this is going, there are no limits. We are lucky to be in this industry at a time when so much is happening. The PSAI has always been a leader. I believe the reason for this is that this is an association of leaders. The future succes s of our initiatives rests in your hands. Things don't get done simply because they are good ideas; it takes commitment from all our Members to make the PSAI a shining star in our industry. I challenge you to pick a committee that piques your interest and get involved. The Committees involved with our strateg ic initiatives include: • Public Information, Education and Advocacy (EI) • Training • Certification Commission • Standards and Guidance • Members Business Success To learn more about these committees and the others that are seeking volunteers, please check out the volunteer section of the PSAI website here: http://psai.org/volunteer - opportunities/ . If you are interested or have questions, contact the committee chair s, Karleen at the PSAI office, or anyone on the Board. We would be glad to help you find a spot to plug in. Whether you volunteer or not, we want you to feel your time and money invested in the PSAI is well worth it. We will always do our best to be acco untable to you as a Board – and you can contact us directly to let us know your thoughts. Our information is on the Board page of the website here: http://psai.org/board - leadership/ . A good way to keep up with what is happening and stay involved with the P SAI is to read the newsletter, Association Insight . It is full of what is happening today as well as what is on the horizon. You'll also be receiving our annual Member survey next week. Please take the time to fill it out and let us know how we can serve you better. Please join us in making our world a better place to hand down to the next generation . Dwayne Siegmann 2017 - 18 President of the PSAI Board of Directors W EEKLY EDITION MAR 29, 2017 PAGE 2
